We were recent guests of The Ritz Carlton, Fort Lauderdale. The resort was just about an hour from home so in case of emergency we were close but we also felt a world away!

The decision to go away from the kids isn’t just an indulgence; it’s a necessity. A chance to reconnect with your partner, recharge your own batteries, and return home as the best version of yourself. We are very lucky to have family that lives close and agreed to let us indulge. However, if this isn’t an option for you consider bartering with a friend with kids. You take theirs for a night and they will take yours in return.

The first step in planning a night away from the kids is selecting the perfect luxury resort. Each resort offers a unique experience, so it’s essential to choose one that suits your preferences and needs. The Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale Beach checked all the boxes for us. Close to home but still away, a beautiful pool and beach location, a spa in house to enjoy and 5 star dining options. We love resorts where we don’t ever have to get back into our car the entire stay.

The moment we arrived at The Ritz Carlton, we were greeted with open arms and a warm smile. The service at The Ritz Carlton is top notch, ensuring that every guest feels like royalty. You’re immediately swept away into a world of opulence, comfort, and relaxation, complete with a glass of champagne at check-in.
Indulging in the Finer Things
Our suite for the weekend was beautiful, offering a large balcony and exquisite furnishings. From robes to high-thread-count sheets, every detail is designed to provide the ultimate in comfort and luxury.
Fine Dining
One of the highlights of any Ritz Carlton resort is the on-site dining. Burlock Coast Seafare & Spirits was the perfect date night meal. The dining room is chic yet cozy.
Whether you prefer seafood, international cuisine, or a classic steak, the restaurant covers all of it. We decided to start with seafood and enjoy ceviche with some of the restaurants signature cocktails.
The menu also includes a specialty menu where the head chef tapped into some of her favorite friends’ signature dishes. My husband ordered the braised short ribs with potato puree. I decided to stick with seafood and enjoyed the wahoo.
We couldn’t leave without satisfying our sweet tooth and since it is October, we decided to enjoy the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake.
Relaxation and Rejuvenation
A stay at The Ritz Carlton isn’t complete without a visit to the their spa. The options are endless, and your relaxation is the top priority. I decided on the Vitamin C Hydra Facial. It was an hour of pure bliss that started with champagne and fruit in the relaxation room before my treatment. Then it was an hour of luxury. Getting a facial pampers your skin while soothing your mind and reducing stress. After my face was glowing and it continues to feel and look amazing!
Reconnecting with Your Partner
One of the most valuable aspects of time away from our kids is the opportunity to reconnect with my husband. We walked each morning to get a coffee and walked down beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach.
We spent time at the pool and I was able to read an entire book!
We enjoyed cocktails and amazing lunch. The best was just to spend time together, free from distractions.
