Today, after a long day out and about with the kids, upon returning home I was lacking energy. There was no convincing anyone to take a nap. About that time I was randomly fantasizing and giggling, how amazing it would be if a friend just randomly dropped off a Starbucks coffee on my doorstep. (I envisioned a bow attached around the cup, oh-ok and you know me, also a surrounding plume of glitter! But, I would settle and accept just the drink if there were no bow or surrounding glitter!)
Well, how amazing would that be?! I mean, you would have to be sure the person is home and can come get the drink in right away!
Now, I’m not saying that Starbucks or even any cost of money had to be involved, perhaps just a random surprise text of how awesome your Mom friend is or a “how is your day?” and “you are Awesome!” (Now I started singing that LEGO song in my head. You know the one, “Everything is Awesome!”) I know, that song is still stuck in my head now too!! Good Luck.
Side note, don’t be alarmed if your friend, at first, might think you are drunk or question if everything is ok with you! (I had a similar response when I attended The Pump and Dump Show in the past, a funny Moms night out show, during the show we were asked to text some mom friends and our own moms to say they are Awesome!) So upon this random text at 8:30 pm that night from me, some questions were raised! Once clarified however, it was a sweet gesture.
Maybe you can just call to set up a simple last minute play date. Sometimes those work out to be the most fun! A location where the moms can relax and chat while the kids are playing is always great.
It is always nice too get a random text or call from a fellow mom friend.
I just want to throw this out there to all the Mommas. Get out there and participate in a “Random act of Mom friend kindness!!!”
Let the Starbucks cups, hugs, play dates and frozen mom drinks fly! I declare June and July Random Mom Friend Act of Kindness months.
