Yesteryear Village

Yesteryear Village is a living history museum nestled on ten acres near the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, Florida. The village showcases Florida history from 1895 to 1945.

Exhibits include an authentic one-room schoolhouse that was built in Loxahatchee Groves and used for the children of Florida settlers who planted and farmed orange groves there. There were less than 50 children of different ages, and each row of desks held students in each grade. They also had their own blackboard for the work of each grade level, and one teacher taught the whole class.

Other exhibits include a barber, dental office, and general store that sells souvenirs as well as displaying artifacts.

Volunteers at Yesteryear Village play a part in making Florida history come alive, by portraying a teacher in the schoolhouse, or showing families where to see fish and turtles in the pond. Yesteryear Village makes a wonderful place to visit for a day trip, school field trip, or outing to learn more about the history of our beautiful Florida.
