Celebrating the Joy of Play
Sloomoo Institute is an experiential, sensory celebration that helps the child in all of us experience the joy of play! Located in SoHo, Manattan, entering Sloomoo Institute is like walking inside a working, dream-like factory of play. Each “egg vat” is filled with gallons of freshly made slime, that is prepared from Elmer’s Glue in house daily, with a variety of textures, scents, and colors. Colors are non-toxic, and scents are made from 100% undiluted, pure essential oils.

Re-Discovering Slime
The idea for a slime institute began when co-founder Karen Robinovitz, experiencing personal loss, visited with friends and their daughter. Her friends’ daughter had brought with her the ingredients to make slime, and Karen, for the first time since playing with slime herself as a child, helped her to make it and in the process, helped herself.
After playing with the slime for hours and realizing the soothing power of sensory play, Karen called her partner, co-founder, Sara Schiller, and explained the beginning of her idea.
Inside Sloomoo Institute
Sloomoo Institute opened in 2019 in SoHo, Manhattan, expanded to Atlanta and Chicago in 2022, and Houston in 2024. Inside, visitors can slingshot slime, play with a variety of textures and types of slime, and even create their own DIY slime, choosing from among dozens of varieties, scents, and colors.
Visitors can also get slimed at Sloomoo Falls, in an incredibly fun experience where slime rains down on you.
