Hawks Cay Resort – A slice of paradise less than 3 hours away

0

Need to get away but the thought of getting on a plane makes that plan go in the trash? We felt this exact way recently so we picked the kids up from school on a Friday and hit the turnpike south.  In less than 3 hours we pulled onto Duck Key and into the Hawks Cay Resort and felt like we had left the real world behind and escaped to paradise.

Upon arriving at the resort, I suddenly felt at ease!  The resort is clearly taking Covid seriously. To find out more about what the resort is doing to keep you safe, make sure to visit their Covid FAQ page.

After the easy check-in, we moved into our home for the weekend!  The resort has a large hotel as well as private villas.  Ours was a two-bedroom, two bathroom villa with a beautiful patio.  When we saw the private hot tub on the patio my husband and I looked at each other and said we could just stay here the whole time!  One of the best things about the villa is the full kitchen.  If you don’t feel comfortable eating out or would rather just eat in, it’s perfect.

After our drive to the keys, we were so excited to go out to dinner.  The resort has several on-site restaurants to choose from.  We visited my favorite restaurant there, Angler and Ale. The beautiful patio that overlooked the ocean was the perfect way to kick-off our weekend.

The resort feels like you have stepped into paradise.  We only spent the weekend but felt that we could have spent so much longer! There truly is so much to do.  Start the day by making your choice to lay by the beautiful pool (there is an adults only pool if you travel sans-kiddos) or grab a spot on the beach by the lagoon?  Make sure to visit the dolphins, you can book an experience to swim with them.

The resort is doing a great job of hosting social distance, safe and fun activities!

In addition to the main resort area, Hawks Cay also has an entire kids area!  While the little ones napped at the villa, I was able to spend some quality time with my oldest son.

We played mini-golf, played in the game room and then met his siblings at the pirate ship water area!

We spent our final evening sitting by the large bonfire playing bingo all together. It was a blast!  The kids were super proud when their mom won a round!

Hawks Cay is a great resort, close to home but feels like a world away.  The perfect place if need a quick escape. They are always having amazing specials, so make sure to follow them on their social media accounts. I know we will be returning soon!

Thank you to the Hawks Cay Resort for hosting Palm Beach Mom Collective for this stay.
