Water Fun in Palm Beach County!

One thing we can’t deny about South Florida is that the afternoons get hot!  There are a lot of days that get too hot for our children to play on the great playgrounds.  That is when it is best to make sure your kids have on their swim suits and head to a splash pad or fountains for water fun!

Below is a list of our favorites spots to have fun but stay cool!

Royal Palm Commons

Located in Royal Palm Commons Park this large fountain area is great for kids to run around and get soaked in!  Bring some buckets or cars and the kids won’t want to leave!  The splash area is surrounded by picnic tables so make sure to pack a lunch! 

Pirates Cove Playground @ Patch Reef Park 

An afternoon of fun in southern Palm Beach County!  Located in Boca Raton, on Yamato Rd. and Military Trail you will find Pirates Cove Splash Pad featuring 3 turning cannons that shoot water while a ship’s mast and palm trees shower kids with more water!  *Bonus* 2 additional playgrounds near by, one specifically designed for children ages 2-5.  Plenty of space for a picnic, so pack your lunch and drive on down!

Palm Beach Zoo

The Palm Beach Zoo is a great place to spend the first part of your day looking at the animals and ending your trip with a run through their fun fountains!  Fountain use is included with your zoo admission.

Barrier Free Park – Boynton Beach

This unique playground is themed after a Florida Swamp and was designed specifically to accommodate children of all ages and abilities on an equal level.  The “spray ground” is a small portion of the park, but provides plenty of fun!  Additionally, there are playgrounds, swings, specialty play areas, pavilions, picnic tables, and fitness trails.

For some downtown water fun, check out the fountains in the heart of West Palm Beach at the end of Clematis Street.  Have lunch at one of the fun restaurants that lines Clematis Street and then head to Sloan’s for some ice cream and finish it off by cooling off in the fountains!

Harbourside Place

Harbourside Place located in Jupiter has fountain play for the kids as well as restaurants and shopping for us moms!  Make sure to check out Harbourside’s website for great events happening all year round!

The Splash Pad area at Lion Country Safari

A great splash pad in Palm Beach County is located in the Lion Country Safari theme park!  First enjoy the safari, ride the carousel, feed the giraffes and then cool off in the splash pad!  Use of the splash pad is included in the price of admission!

The Splash Pad area at North Palm Beach Country Club

The splash pad is available for families to reserve for one hour. Reservations are taken Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Please call the pool office at (561) 691-3427. Families are limited to 8 guests at a fee of $24 plus tax (flat fee, not per person). Families are limited to one hour in the splash pad.  Have lunch at the Farmer’s Table after playing!

Burns Road Aquatic Center

To visit the Splash Zone, patrons must purchase tickets IN ADVANCE  and provide proof of purchase at the gate. Attendance for the Splash Zone will be limited to 80 tickets each day. Resident/Non-Resident fees: $3.50/$7 (plus tax).

The Gardens North County District Park

This great splash pad is free and open daily!

South Florida Science Center & Aquarium 

When visiting the South Florida Science center don’t forget your swimsuits for their fun splash pad in their outdoor section of the center.
