Palm Beach County is a beautiful destination for tourists from all over the world, and we lucky Palm Beach Moms get to call it home! Even better, we have lots of fun options to choose from when planning a local adventure. Here are five free activities kids of all ages will be sure to love!
Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Located in Juno Beach, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center rehabilitates sick and injured sea turtles. While admission is free, there is an optional $5 donation, and all proceeds go toward funding the work of the center. Watch sea turtles swimming up close, including large mature turtles and tiny baby sea turtles, and other exhibits. There is also a nice playground for young children outside behind the center. It is across the street from beautiful Juno Beach, so you can easily spend an entire day there!
Manatee Lagoon
Manatee Lagoon is an eco-discovery center in West Palm Beach. Its mission is to educate the public about manatees, and the ecosystem of the Lake Worth Lagoon. Admission is free. All of the manatees are wild, and often swim next to the center in the warm water, especially on chilly mornings! There are also educational exhibits inside the center, as well as a small gift shop.
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary
Another great place to see local wildlife up close is the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary. Bald eagles, alligators, raccoons, and owls are a few of the animals that reside at this animal sanctuary in Jupiter. It is a nonprofit organization that is funded by donations, and works to educate the public about local wildlife and to rehabilitate injured animals.
The Beach
Of course, spending a day at the beach is a quintessential South Florida activity! Pack your sunblock, towels, and a cooler, and head to Delray Beach, Palm Beach, Singer Island, or another favorite sandy spot, and enjoy the best of what Florida has to offer!
Worth Avenue
Okay, this last one is not exactly free, but you can window shop at no charge, and no visit to Palm Beach is complete without a trip to Worth Ave! Browse high end stores and walk along this beautiful stretch of Palm Beach from Lake Worth to the ocean.
Whatever you choose, there are so many options for family fun in Palm Beach County!
